The Role

Alphacon Capital is looking for a senior, part-time marketing leader who can set the digital marketing strategy, direct AI-powered creative production, and manage the online presence for a growing private commercial lending business. This is a fractional leadership role, not a full-time position. You will set direction, build playbooks, authorise creative, and coordinate with a performance marketing agency, working 15-20 hours per week.

A junior offshore executor (hired separately) handles the daily production under your direction. The operating model is AI-native. AI tools produce content drafts, competitive intelligence, and creative assets. You bring the marketing judgment, financial services knowledge, and strategic direction that AI cannot. Your job is to direct and quality-control, not do everything manually.

Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Direction

  • Define and maintain the marketing strategy for Alphacon Capital
  • Set the content calendar: themes, topics, formats, cadence across all platforms
  • Build brand guidelines and content playbooks the junior executor can follow independently
  • Define content-to-platform adaptation rules (what goes where, in what format)
  • Set KPIs and measurement frameworks for all channels

Creative Quality Control

  • Review and approve all creative assets before they go live
  • Set brand standards for visual identity, tone of voice, and messaging
  • Provide feedback to the junior executor on creative quality, train them over time
  • Ensure all content is compliant with financial services advertising rules

Agency Coordination

  • Own the relationship with the performance marketing agency
  • Brief the agency on campaigns, review their recommendations, approve strategy
  • Ensure paid and organic messaging are aligned
  • Review campaign performance and recommend budget allocation

Channel Strategy

  • Website: content strategy, SEO direction, conversion optimisation
  • LinkedIn: founder-led thought leadership strategy, carousel programme, engagement plan
  • Instagram / Facebook / TikTok / X: content strategy per platform
  • Email: EDM programme, nurture sequences, segmentation strategy
  • Google Ads / Meta Ads: campaign strategy direction
  • Google Business Profile, online directories, and industry listings

Analytics & Reporting

  • Own the marketing dashboard and reporting cadence
  • Weekly summary to CEO (key metrics, flags, recommendations)
  • Monthly performance deep-dive with channel-by-channel analysis
  • Competitor monitoring and market intelligence

Playbook Development

A critical deliverable: build the operating manuals that make the junior productive and replaceable. Content calendar template, brand voice guide, platform-specific posting guides, creative brief template for AI-generated assets, compliance checklist for financial services marketing content, campaign launch and review checklists, and agency briefing template.

Requirements

Experience (Non-Negotiable)

  • 2+ years in digital marketing with progressive responsibility
  • Financial services experience preferred: lending, banking, insurance, wealth, or fintech
  • Has owned or managed a brand's full digital presence
  • Experience managing or coordinating with external agencies
  • Has built marketing playbooks, brand guidelines, or content systems that others followed
  • Track record of measurable results (engagement growth, lead generation, brand metrics)

AI Proficiency

  • Uses AI tools regularly for marketing work, comfortable with AI-powered content and creative production
  • Does not need to be a power user, needs to understand what AI can do and direct it effectively
  • Comfortable reviewing AI-generated content and providing specific feedback
  • Open to an AI-native operating model where AI handles production and humans handle judgment

Working Style

  • Can work independently with minimal oversight, this is a fractional role, not a managed one
  • Strong communicator: can brief a junior, coordinate with an agency, and report to a CEO concisely
  • Understands regulated marketing compliance
  • Comfortable in a lean environment, no team layers, direct to the founder
